June 16, 2023 ~ Father’s Day Weekend Prelude

This morning I write quickly as my time belongs to my employer at 9am. I have a lot to say but have to get on the road! I'm a Business Development Representative and make 8+ stops daily to property managers, to talk about our services.

I've committed to myself to a minimum of one post a day for this new hobby... so here is one for this day, June 16, 2023.

The past couple of days have been pretty great. I have new memories and a bunch of photos from time with my granddaughter, Rowie, and my son, Kalob. I treasure every sec with my family. I'll need to post more about the visits when I have more time.

I'm looking forward to this weekend. My only definite plan is a good one, a pool party with some friends on Saturday. They're always guaranteed fun and interesting conversation. And the weather is supposed to be amazing.

Sunday may be a little tricky as it's Father's Day. My father passed when I was young. He didn't live but a couple months past the age of 50 because of an unhealthy lifestyle, alcohol and cigarettes. Some years I'm surprised at how the day affects me. Others, selfishly, I think little of him. I think it's because my health challenges have made me easily distractible over the years so I wasn't one to dwell on thoughts ~ and I often was trying to do too many things at one time on a regular basis. So I didn't think a lot about it being a holiday at all. If that makes any sense.

Anyway, this year, I'm on a great new medication (it's been over a year since I started it). I'm thinking clearer and living a more intentional life than ever before. We'll see how Sunday goes. I may take the dogs to the beach or something to break up the day.

Ugh! Out of time! I'm very happy to have my current position though... so here I go to start my work day. Good morning!
